Why This Player Exists

High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), also known as H.265, is a powerful video codec that offers superior compression, making it ideal for 4K and 8K UHD video. However, many web browsers and operating systems do not support playing HEVC files natively. This tool solves that problem by using FFmpeg and WebAssembly to decode your videos right in your browser, with no need for extra software or uploads.

Please note that due to browser technology limitations, the decoding may be slightly slower than the playback speed. Allowing the video to buffer for a bit can reduce playback stuttering.

Key Features

What is HEVC (H.265)?

HEVC (H.265) is the successor to the widely used AVC (H.264) codec. It is designed to be about twice as efficient, meaning it can deliver the same video quality at half the bitrate. This makes it perfect for streaming high-resolution content over the internet and for storing large video files more efficiently.
